Coach House designed by Daniel Burnham in Oak Park
This
wonderful property is situated in Oak Park, Illinois. Located
right in the heart of Hemingway's birthplace and his boyhood
home. The Coach House was designed by Daniel Burnham (who
helped rebuild Chicago after the Great Chicago Fire) and was
remodeled by the great architect, Frank Lloyd Wright in 1896.
It has a circular living room and is fully funished with four
bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Sleeps six very comfortably
and has a TV, washer and dryer, a piano and parking.
Apart
from being a very exciting and interesting property in its
own right, this 1879 Coach house was built just twenty years
before Hemingway was born and is situated very near the;
Hemingway Museum,
Oak
Park-River Forest High School (where Hemingway went to school),
Hemingway's actual birthplace,
His
boyhood home,
His
elementary school and the
First
United Church of Oak Park where Hemingway was baptized in
1899.
Then
when you've learnt everything you can about Hemingway and
followed in his footsteps you can visit Chicago (just a twenty
minute train ride away) and its many cultural attractions,
festivals and year round activities.
